These are reference sources I explored, but I’m not promoting them for any other reason than I had used them as resources to better understand what was going on.
“The I Ching” or Book of Changes -The Wilhelm/Baynes Translation
“Afterlife Encounters” -Ordinary People, Extraordinary Experiences by Dianne Arcangel
“The Afterlife Experiments” by Gary E. Schwartz, Ph.D.
- I had read several books relating to the paranormal/metaphysiscs, whatever, before 2010, but I gave boxes of books away to a local high school before I moved, and I don’t recall all of the titles, but the ones noted on this page, I kept.
“Lily Dale” -the town that talks to the dead by Christine Wicker
“We Are Eternal” -what spirits tell me about life after death by Robert Brown
The illustrated “Signs & Symbols Sourcebook” an a to z compendium of over 1000 designs by Adele Nozedar
“Love Poems from God” Twelve Sacred Voices from the East and West Translated by Daniel Ladinsky*
“The Sacred Bee” in Ancient Times and Folklore by Hilda M. Ransome*
“Memories, Dreams, Reflections” by C. G. Jung. Recorded and edited by Aniela Jaffe. Translated from the German by Richard and Clara Winston
“The Way of All Flesh” by Samuel Butler. This one is hard to explain, but the name “Samuel Butler” was one of the first names that came to me, clearly, when I was learning to tune in. There are two famous Samuel Butlers, who were writers, but the author of this book is the one that was referenced. Good book. First published in 1903. (During the span of time between 2008 and 2014 there were numerous references that came up for the name “Sam.”)*
“Entangled Minds” Extrasensory Experiences in a Quantum Reality by Dean Radin.*
“Old Norse Poems” The Most Important non-skaldic verse not included in the poetic edda by Lee M. Hollander. Still working on finishing this one, as it has many footnotes that, absolutely, have to be read in order to understand the verse.*
“Love and Death” by Max Wallace and Ian Halperin This book came to my attention in a significant way in 2013 or 14. I searched for it and then bought it second hand, because I didn’t see (at that time) it was in print anymore. I was, and still am, very reluctant to read books about Kurt Cobain, but this book came into my focus as significant, and it did help me put something together in terms of a name (not Sam) that kept coming up.*
“The Poetic Edda” and the “Prose Edda” the latter attributed to Snorri Sturlson. While I did not read the entire body of these works, there were many references to Nordic Mythology that were coming up in strange ways since I began writing the poems. Most notably were references to Odin’s Ravens (Huginn and Muninn), Yggdrasil, and the Valkyries, among other things. I understand the references to Huginn and Muninn because they represent thought (Huginn) and memory (Muninn), but I don’t fully understand why there was an ongoing theme of Nordic Mythology and references to Medieval Europe.*
I thought there had been an internet site, years ago, called justiceforkurt.com, but I don’t think it’s there anymore. I believe the relevant information is now on cobaincase.com -not sure what changed there or if that’s the original site I had seen in 2008.
Barbara Lamb barbaralambmft.com -Barbara Lamb was the first person I went to see in late February of 2008. I chose her because, at the time, her office was located to the east of where I had been living, therefore, I wouldn’t have to battle LA traffic. Also, she helps people who believe they’re alien abductees and I figured, if she’s okay with that, she can suspend judgement on what I experienced. After meeting her, I liked her very much. She is patient and kind.
John Deveraux. He was was the first medium I had a reading with, in May (I think) of 2008, but he rarely does readings anymore, as he has other things going on. He was very good, and back then, he was affordable.
- Of all the readings I had, I only told a couple of mediums, after the reading took place, who they were seeing. I won’t name which two, but I realized, he didn’t want to be acknowledged as having been Kurt C. For awhile he even went with a pseudonym, but then switched back after a period of time.
George Dalzell, L.C.S.W. -His name popped out at me from Gary Schwartz’s book. I had phone reading that was, by far, the weirdest reading, before and during the session. That’s not to say there was anything wrong with it, but it stood out for its unusual set of circumstances.
Tim Braun, -A few spirits showed up at this reading, and Kurt was among them. He did give Tim a hard time, because he had made me wait the lobby when I had gotten to his office early. Tim relayed that information to me during the session, because he felt like it was indicative of that spirit’s personality. Tim went on to say that he never had a spirit call him out like that. I never told Tim Braun who had shown up, but Tim was very kind and spot on.
Learning Light A place in Anaheim, CA that has these “Psychic Fairs” once a month. I had a handful of mini readings there between 2008 and 2010. Mini readings are usually 15 minutes. Of the the few, the notable ones were: Patricia Price, Grace Divine, and Michael J. Kouri. I had a significant reading with Patricia Price who hails from Lily Dale.
- I spent lots of time on the internet looking up various references or key words that would come out in the poems. It’s how I learned about a lot of things, both old and new. Sometimes a phrase or word, used in a particular context, would make me think of something else, or it would seem like it had another meaning, and it would inspire me to look for a secondary meaning.
*Consciously picked out by the spirit who calls himself Kurt. For example, the way I came to buy “Love Poems from God”: I felt the need to go to a particular store, when I got there, I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to get, so I started asking which direction? In that way, I came to the books. At first, I would look to see if anything jumped out at me, but when it didn’t, I did a process of elimination. So, I would ask, internally, is it this shelf? Once I got to the right shelf, I would then put my hands on particular book titles, I guessed it might be, when I got to the right book, the words that came to me were, I want you to have it.
